Digging

Digging

It’s time to get out and start digging again. This is a photo from last year when we were clearing the first side of the allotment. Over winter we started digging the second half, which was much more overgrown. We’ve not done too bad! Photos to follow.

  1. Hi Robert. I was most impressed with the look of the old rubbish pile – I think you took the photo from the far end of the plot? Remembering what it used to look like you’ve done a fabulous job. I’m glad you managed to find some raspberries – most folk find they grow quite easily – at least in a good sunny position. You should really cut them down now and forego this years crop (which will only be very small) and let the plants send up new growth for 2009. The only exception to this is if they are autumn fruiting – you can probably remember if they had fruit on them in September – failing that you should be able to see where the fruit used to hang – the stem shown was not an autumn one. I trust you have managed to get in your wonderfully chitted potatoes – they are some of the best I have ever seen! Trust you are still enjoying the break – I shall be looking out for updates.
